General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

To be fully compliant with GDPR you now need to make sure that data is stored securely as well, with the right processes in place to safeguard it and you.

We ensure that your database is cleansed, de-duped and used ethically under the Data Protection Act and GDPR.

The new regulations come into effect on 25th May 2018 and they affect not only your permissions to collect and use customer data – for email marketing, say.

They also affect your responsibilities around data management and storage. If you are found to be in breach of the new laws, you can be fined.

We advise clients on how they can take a three-fold approach to GDPR:

1. Data Inventory – what data has been gathered, how long ago and for what purpose. Do you have permission to use it for marketing communications?

2. Data Security – how is data stored and managed? Are you following best practice on cyber security? How and where can you strengthen your processes?
